We are pleased to announce that the Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS) has received its 2023 CiteScore: 0.4, ranking 455 out of 551 journals in the Surgery category.

Furthermore, we are delighted to highlight the remarkable achievements made by all AME journals in the CiteScore ranking.

In 2024, many VATS authors make outstanding contributions to our journal. Their articles published with us have received very well feedback in the field and stimulate a lot of discussions and new insights among the peers.

In 2024, VATS reviewers continue to make outstanding contributions to the peer review process. They demonstrated professional effort and enthusiasm in their reviews and provided comments that genuinely help the authors to enhance their work.

VATS Annual Report (2023)

Till December 31, 2023, VATS has a total of 77 Editorial Board Members from 14 countries. 46 articles have been published last year with 21 Review Article, 7 Surgical Technique, 7 Editorial Commentary, 4 Case Report, 4 Editorial and 3 Original Article. Corresponding authors came from 15 countries, with mostly from USA, Japan and Italy. According to the Google Analytics, VATS drew the attention of 32,440 visitors and accumulated 90,126 pageviews in the past year, with the majority coming from the USA, followed by China, UK, India and Canada. Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access electronic journal reporting the cutting-edge findings and application of video-assisted thoracic surgery, including but not limited to biopsy, esophagus surgery (esophagectomy), hiatal hernia repair, lung surgery, procedures to remove excess fluid or air from the area around the lungs, surgery to relieve excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), surgery to relieve gastroesophageal reflux disease, thymus gland removal surgery (thymectomy). The techniques of VATS include but are not be limited to multiportal VATS, uniportal VATS, robotic VATS and tubeless VATS.
