Non-intubated video-assisted thoracic surgery for primary and secondary spontaneous pneumothorax
Abstract
Awake video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) is a therapeutic option for patients with primary or intractable secondary spontaneous pneumothorax. Preoperative preparation and teamwork between the surgeon and the anesthetist are extremely important for the success of this procedure. We believe that non-intubated VATS can meet all the requirements for safety and efficacy in the treatment of primary or secondary spontaneous pneumothorax.
