Dr. Alberto Aiolfi is a general and minimally invasive surgeon at the Department of General and Thoracic Surgery, University of Milan.
He received his MD degree from the University of Milan. After that, he completed his general surgery residency in Italy (University of Milan) after 1-year research fellowship at the University of Southern California (LAC+USC Medical Center - Keck School of Medicine) in Los Angeles (CA).
Dr. Aiolfi’s clinical and research interests include aspects of benign and malignant upper GI diseases. Specific fields of expertise are esophageal achalasia, gastroesophageal reflux disease, paraesophageal hernia, esophageal diverticula and esophageal cancer all managed with minimally invasive techniques. He has also an interest and expertise in VATS surgery with a specific focus on lung malignancies and surgery for COVID-19-related pneumothorax.
He has published more than 100 scientific articles, and is a reviewer and member of the editorial board of several surgery journals with IF.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).
