The endoscopic lens allows the surgeon to have an adjacent-up, enlarged and illumined view of the operating field. The development of reduced thoracoscope, 3D systems, high-definition cameras has further refined video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS), making it harmless, more easily adaptable and less aggressive.
